Memorial Service
Tewitt Lane, Oakworth
Sunday 3rd January 2009, at 2.00 pm.

We will be remembering the six men who died on January 2nd 1944 when their Wellington bomber crashed into the hillside on a foggy evening.
Please wrap up well for this event and wear boots as it's often a bit muddy on the lane. Wreaths will be laid and prayers said for the men who died.
It's quite easy to park in the lane opposite the Grouse Inn and walk along the lane to the memorial site. The walk to the site takes less than ten minutes.

Veritass ladies about to embark on the walk across Morecambe Bay

The staff of Veritass took part in the walk across Morecambe Bay to raise funds for Manorlands.
The walk was organized by the Shipley Support Group and was led by Cedric Robinson MBE the Queen's Guide to the sands.
Veritass are hoping to raise £438 for the charity.
The walk took approximately 4 hours and everyone got extremely wet from both wading through the sea, which was nearly waist deep at one point and from the heavy rain which started towards the end of the walk. Although everyone was very cold and wet the walk was very enjoyable.
