The 1/4th Battalion Alexandra, Princess of Wales Own Yorkshire Regiment (later the Green Howards) was formed on the 4th August 1914 until the 16th July 1918. Reduced to Cadre on 15 Jul 1918. Cadre to the 'Lines of of Communication Troops'. This was an infantry division of the 150th (York and Durham) Brigade under the 50th Northumbrian Division.
