Press cutting from the Keighley News dated 3rd October 1914, Page 5:

A Keighley Artilleryman Killed.
Notification has been received in Keighley of the death of Bombardier Lawrence Wood of the 70th Battery, Royal Field Artillery.
He resided in Rock Street East, Woodhouse, Keighley and was 23 years of age and leaves a widow, and a baby a fortnight old.
He was last in Keighley on July 4th and had there been no war, would have completed his service with the colours in December next.
His battery was stationed at Aldershot and left for the front on August 11th.
His widow received a a postcard when he went to France, and she had a further message from him about 3 weeks ago stating that he was well. He was killed in action.
