We are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two.

6 years of war for 60 years of peace

The memorial service starts at 12.00 am at the War Memorial in Holden (Oakworth) Park. Please come for 11.45 am for a prompt start.

There will be prayers, a minutes silence and laying of floral tributes, accompanied by a piper.
This will be followed shortly afterwards by cream teas in Holden Hall. This part of the event finishes at 15.30 (3.30 pm)
Please wear your medals (if you have any) at the memorial service.
There are no special requirements afterwards at Holden Hall which will be more of a party atmosphere with tea and cake and 40's music

Posters will be placed around Oakworth in the preceding weeks to remind everyone who wishes to attend. All are most welcome.
You can learn more about Oakworth's men of World War Two by clicking on the 'War Memorial' button at the top of this page.
We'd like people who remember the events from 60 years ago to come along and share their memories with us.
