Frank Wigglesworth died at the age of 92 in 2002, and lived in Oakworth all his life, he had many friends in the village which he loved, and was a founding member of the Oakworth Village Society. An adaptation of his Local Walk around the village is part of this website.

Frank was the author of the book 'Oakworth in my Time' which is published by Bradford libraries. A copy is available for loan at Keighley library.

The Village Society has erected a memorial bench in Frank's name at the top of Providence lane in front of the gates to Oakworth Manor nursing home. A short dedication ceremony was held at 12.45 on 2nd October 2004, (Frank would have been 94 years old on the 17th October).
Frank often rested on the wall near to this bench at the top of Providence Lane, and we like to think he would have approved of the location of a bench for others to rest in this spot.
