Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga is the most popular form of yoga in the world and is practised by millions worldwide. Its adherents follow the method of yoga devised by BKS Iyengar.
His method is rooted on the ancient traditional yoga of India but is taught with a modern scientific precision which make it accessible to everybody whether stiff or supple, old or young, fit or unfit, healthy or sick. BKS Iyengar has developed the use of props and modifications which make it possible for everybody to benefit from the safe and effective practice of yoga asanas (or postures)
The benefit of yoga practice is felt immediately and begins with an enhanced sense of well-being.
With regular practice comes improved health, strength, suppleness, concentration and vitality. One also learns to relax and cope with the stresses of life more effectively.

I teach a general class in Oakworth at Holden Hall on Monday evenings from 7.30 - 9pm £32 for an 8 week session or £4.50 to drop-in. All are welcome.
I also teach classes in Cowling, Nelson and Colne - further details of these classes are available on request.

Yoga can have great therapeutic benefits, but an ordinary class situation is not always appropriate for people with injury or ill-health. Such people often need to take things more slowly or follow a special program. With this in mind I also run a Therapeutic Yoga Class from 5 -6.30 pm on Monday evenings in Cowling. This is a small group where special attention is given to individual needs. Cost is £50 for an 8 week session.
